The American Institute for History Education (AIHE) was founded in 2003 to provide history teachers with high-quality professional development programs, firmly anchored in rich historical content, along with substantive historical lessons, activities, and resources to use in their classrooms. AIHE appreciates the tremendous need for teachers to have access to optimum quality historical content and more advanced resources.
- Workshops/Seminars & Colloquia
The American Institute for History (AIHE) offers workshops, seminars, colloquia, institutes, and discussions in various models and delivery systems.
- Field Trips for Teachers
The American Institute for History Education (AIHE) will work with you to plan, develop, organize and coordinate TAH Grant field trips for your teachers. AIHE will take the time and worry of trip planning out of your hands. Our experienced staff will make your historical trip one for the memory books.
- Methods
AIHE has developed numerous methods proven to engage students´ interest and improve understanding of events in history.
- Talking History
Talking History is AIHE's forum on history topics. Once registered, you can submit questions, comments and answers for review by hundreds or even thousands of historians and teachers across the country. Monthly we entertain an online, interactive chat, often with well-known historians. We encourage all teachers and historians interested in discussions of historical events to register and use this site.

- Distance Learning/Video Conferencing
AIHE provides multiple channels for supporting distance learning such as, Video Conferencing & Web Collaboration along with many other options.
- AP Summer Institute
In partnership with the Middle States Regional Office of the College Board, AIHE offers a Social Studies Advanced Placement (AP) Summer Institute. Subject areas include: United States History, European History, World History, Psychology, and United States Government and Politics.
